Godalming Town Council is responsible for the installation of Christmas lights in Godalming town centre.

Over the last few years, new lights have been purchased with many Godalming businesses contributing to the cost of buying the lights although it is the Town Council that meets the annual costs of putting them up and taking them down again.

This year the Godalming Christmas Lights Switch-on is Saturday, 26 November 2011. The Christmas Festival Market will start at 10.00 am, with the switch-on happening at 5.00 pm.
