Upon the recommendation of the Council Management & External Relations Committee the Council agreed the following:
The Council also endorsed the three decisions made by the Council Management & External Relations Committee about use of the Crest; to grant permission to the Godalming Cricket Club and the Godalming Youth Orchestra and to refuse permission to Brittnett-South East.
Planning & Environment Committee
No recommendations were made to Full Council.
Policy & Resources Committee
Upon the recommendation of the Policy & Resources Committee the Council agreed to adopt updated Financial Regulations (copy attached to record minutes).

The next meeting of the Full Council is scheduled to be held on Thursday, 11 May 2006 at 6.30 pm in the Council Chamber.
401-05 ANNOUNCEMENTS
With the permission of the Chairman, the Town Clerk announced that pursuant to Minute 389-05 (where Members of the Council Management & External Relations Committee noted the Notice of an Official Industrial Action Ballot from the Trade Union Unison and that all four Town Council staff based at the Council offices were Unison members and had been balloted) that the result of the ballot was in favour of industrial action and that a one-day strike had been called for Tuesday, 28 March 2006. The Town Clerk further announced that it was likely that the Town Council offices would be closed for the day on 28 March 2006.

402-05 REVIEW OF THE POLICY FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY MAYOR

Members considered a confidential report from the Mayoralty Committee and resolved to make no change to the current policy for the appointment of Deputy Mayor.
403-05 APPOINTMENT OF TOWN MAYOR 2006/07
This item was considered as a confidential item - but the resulting minute need not be considered confidential.
Members agreed the recommendation from the Mayoralty Committee that Councillor Dr JFA Blowers should be nominated to be Godalming Town Mayor for the Local Government year 2006/07.
Members agreed the recommendation from the Mayoralty Committee that Councillor PJ Martin should be nominated to be Godalming Deputy Town Mayor for the Local Government year 2006/07.
