Born and brought up on the Isle of Wight, Jane worked and lived in and around London, until settling in Godalming in 1986.
After a career in regional management for a large hotel and catering company, she and her then husband set up their own pub and restaurant business.
Her interest in gardening and floristry and her knowledge of British sign language enabled her to follow a different career path after starting a family. She now works for Surrey education providing specialist student support for the deaf and also as a freelance gardener and florist.
Jane has been a member of the Town Council since 2007. She has two sons and her partner, Rob Maitland, has a joinery business in Winchester.
