Joy was born in Godalming where her family have lived for generations. She was educated locally and has a psychology degree with honours from the Open University.
She has travelled widely and has held many interesting careers at home and abroad. She worked for many years as an Administration Manager of a large Life Assurance Company in Guildford and London. She cares passionately about people and has worked for such organisations as the Citizens Advice Bureau, Age Concern and the Registration Service as a Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths.
Currently Joy works in the community as a literacy tutor. She is also involved with the Royal British Legion industries in supporting disabled people in the workplace.
She is married with one grown-up son.
She is delighted to be a newly elected Councillor for the Central & Ockford Ward and is totally committed to working with you on local issues.
